Current limitations
Honest limits of Spectra — data coverage, identification risk, unpublished metrics, and what the product will not do.
Read this page before using Spectra in a quality, regulatory, or publication setting.
Data coverage
Public support is 1H and 13C from Bruker, JEOL, Varian or JCAMP-DX. Other nuclei, 2D-only packages, and undocumented vendor dialects are not listed as supported.
Identification risk
Verification of a proposed structure is a different risk class from open-world identification. Dereplication can miss a new analogue. Impurity identification can fail when the impurity is below the quality of the 13C.
Retrieval misses
A molecule that is not in the searchable space cannot be ranked honestly. Novel structures need elucidation work, not only library retrieval.
No public product KPI
Historical marketing figures (top-1, top-10, timing, class counts, “100% explainable”, retrieval-space size) are not shown on this site. They lack a public methodology. ROSE research numbers are not Spectra product numbers.
